Lions give Jim Harbaugh a look at backup QB.

DETROIT _ Former Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh, a 14-year NFL veteran, will get the first _ but not necessarily the only _ shot at the Lions' backup quarterback job.

Harbaugh and guard Brenden Stai, cut Thursday by Jacksonville in a salary cap move, will be the first free agents interviewed by coach Marty Mornhinweg as he tries to get a quick fix for the Lions' most pressing needs.

Harbaugh, Stai and Bradford Banta, a backup tight end with a reputation for deadly accuracy as a long snapper, were scheduled to arrive in Detroit on Friday night and meet with Lions coaches on Saturday.
