Mike Riley and Norv Turner took a break from the film rooms of Camp Charger and attended the NCAA West sub-regional at San Diego State two weekends ago.
The coach and offensive coordinator of the Chargers just hope Michael Vick has more "escapability" than they do.
"We'd walk through the stands and people would yell, `Take Michael Vick,'" Riley said at the NFL meetings in Palm Desert on Tuesday. "I think we know how everybody feels."
San Diego's fans feel entitled to something. Their baseball team grinds away in poverty while the lawyers battle the new ballpark. Their football team goes 1-15 and charges the city for every unsold ticket. Tony Gwynn will have his knee replaced before the town replaces Tony Gwynn - unless the Chargers surrender to the obvious and take Vick.
