Mar. 7--TAVARES, Fla.--The Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort wants its own government to supply services to a planned 850-home development.
The company has petitioned Lake County to establish a community development district -- which are small, developer-run governments referred to as CDDs.
The County Commission on Tuesday said it wants to have a workshop on CDDs before a public hearing is scheduled in May on the Mission Inn's request.
"This is a small CDD just for water and sewer -- nothing more," said Tom Line, Mission Inn real estate broker and developer. "This is very simple -- different from some of the others." …
