Mar. 21--WILLIAMSBURG, Va.--Colonial Williamsburg recorded its lowest ticket sales in more than two decades last year, according to figures released on Tuesday by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
Officials attributed much of the 2000 decline to bad weather and the disruptive environment surrounding the $100 million renovation project, particularly continuing construction at the Visitor Center and the new Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel.
In 2000, total admissions which include paid admissions, along with complimentary tickets and Good Neighbor passes at Colonial Williamsburg were 929,000, a drop of more than 6 percent from 1999's total …
