Aetna Cancels Prudential HMO's Contract with Central Florida Hospital System.

Apr. 4--About 100,000 members of Central Florida's largest health-maintenance organization, Prudential Health Care, can no longer receive medical treatment at Florida Hospital's six local campuses.

And 4,000 of those members must find a new doctor.

Prudential's parent company, Aetna Inc., has canceled Prudential's contract with Florida Hospital. Effective this past Sunday, all but one of its facilities became off limits to Prudential's HMO customers.

And even the remaining facility, Winter Park Memorial Hospital, may not be available for very long. Florida Hospital said it will terminate Winter Park's contract with Prudential when it expires June …
