Apr. 7--Eddie G. Davis, one of the area's most prominent advocates for minority-owned companies, has resigned as president of the St. Louis Minority Business Council.

Davis left in early to mid-March, said Mitchell Baden, the council's chairman. He resigned to pursue other interests, Baden said.

Baden, who also is an executive vice president of South Side National Bank, said a five-member committee is searching for a new president. The board hopes to fill the position soon on at least an interim basis, he said.

Davis, who previously was an executive at Union Electric Co., ran the council for four years. He served on …
