Virginia Lawmakers Say Legislator Must Talk More with Corporation Commission.

Apr. 18--Lawmakers studying the role of the State Corporation Commission agreed yesterday with a regulatory consultant that the General Assembly and commission need to talk more.
The consultant's recommendation was based mainly on complaints from energy companies critical of the SCC's role in electric industry deregulation.
A cordial relationship between the legislature and the SCC might produce better work at the commission, said Sen. Thomas K. Norment Jr., R-James City, chairman of a House-Senate subcommittee studying the SCC's regulatory responsibilities, policies and activities. Norment also sponsored the state's electric …
