Apr. 23--After some initial grumbling, Northwest Airlines' 10,000 mechanics and aircraft cleaners appear to be moving closer to ratifying a tentative contract agreement that would give the airline and its passengers freedom from labor disruptions this year.
During a break in all-day meetings in Romulus on Sunday to explain the tentative deal to his members, O.V. Delle-Femine, national director of the Airline Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA), said the feedback from members has been mostly good.
