May 16--Camping Boy Scouts in Rocheport got a reprieve in Boone County Circuit Court today, but the small-town brouhaha between an alderman and a business owner probably is far from over.

Associate circuit judge Chris Kelly this morning ruled against the city in its zoning case against the owners of the Trailside Cafe. The city claimed Roger and Betty Slate violated the town zoning ordinance by allowing Scouts to camp in the back yard of their bike shop and restaurant adjacent to the cross-state Katy trail. The Slates have allowed the practice for years and don't charge the Scouts.
