May 14--INVESTORS SHOULD HAVE PATIENCE WITH MARKET FOR BURNING CDS: When I bought a PC a few weeks ago, my children insisted that it come with a CD burner, the ability to copy music files. And as they burn CDs for their friends, the software has captured my interest. That's even more true because the company that produces it will be publicly traded today for the first time.
The company is Roxio (ROXI), once a wholly owned subsidiary of Adaptec (ADPT), which specializes in the equipment that speeds data from a computer to devices like printers or disk drives. Both companies are based in Milpitas.
