There's more to Buffalo and Western New York than the Bills, Bisons, blowing snow, Bethlehem Steel and blue-collar workers.

We make stuff here besides steel. A lot of stuff. A lot of food. Some tires and other automobile parts. Some toys. Household goods and sports equipment.

Of course, we aren't pretending this list is inclusive, just a mention of some of our most notables.

Millions of people know about giant toymaker Fisher-Price Inc., but few probably know it is headquartered in East Aurora, less than 20 miles from downtown Buffalo.

The well-known toy company makes the Little People Garage, Bubble Mower, Magic Burner Kitchen, Fun Hydrant Sprinkler and other products at its plant in Medina, N.Y.

If you are like many people, you drink coffee in the morning. Use cream? Heard of Coffee Rich? It's made here, by Buffalo's Rich Products Corp., which also invented ready-to-eat frozen foods and makes Rich's Whip Topping and an assortment of other frozen products.

Dunlop Tire in Tonawanda makes tires, General Motors' Harrison Division in Lockport makes radiators and two other plants make engines and gears and axles. Ford Motor Co. has a local stamping plant. Buffalo …
