Jun. 21--The Internet changed the way adults do business. It's now changing the way kids socialize.
About 17 million American youths ages 12 to 17 -- 73 percent of that age bracket -- use the Internet, according to a study released Wednesday. Almost half of them say the 'Net improves their relationship with friends and a third use the Internet to make new friends.
And while parents say they're monitoring their children's activities, most kids believe they have free rein when they log on.
