Jul. 12--DURYEA, Pa.--Union leaders and Schott Glass Technologies officials will meet Monday with government mediators -- 15 days after 300 union employees went on strike.

It will be the first time in three weeks that the two sides will talk, said Evan Arguello on Wednesday. Arguello is president of the local 726T of the Textile and Garment Division of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

As the two sides prepare for the meeting, Schott management is trying to win rank-and-file support for its position.

In a letter Tuesday to strikers, the company said it needs to make changes to remain competitive …
