Aug. 19--This Christmas, you might be happy to get another sweater.

Home heating oil prices could return to record levels this winter, local dealers and national forecasters say, especially if the weather is exceptionally cold.

If that turns out to be the case, the nearly 60,000 households in the county using oil heat could end up paying as much as $300 more for heating oil than they did last winter.

Heating oil prices already are at all-time summer highs, largely due to fears of disruptions in major producing nations and robust demand in Asia, most notably China.
