Jul. 25--Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Co plans to spend eight billion baht in the next three years to expand its water services.
Wanchai Lawatanatrakul, the director and chief executive, said the money would be spent on laying water pipelines in Chachoengsao province and the surrounding areas of Chon Buri-Bang Pakong and Bang Pakong-Bang Phli (1.7 billion baht); Prachin Buri-Kabin Buri-Sa Kaew provinces (1.4 billion); Nakhon Ratchasima province (two billion); and Bangkok's outer environs (800 million).
As well, two billion baht will be spent through affiliates, with Universal Utlities handling water production and supply while Global Water Systems Corp makes and sells drinking-water vending machines.
East Water plans to increase Universal Utilities' capital by 500 million baht to 1.010 billion.
