Jul. 25--Advertising spending on radio in the first half of this year totalled 1.43 billion baht with DTAC mobile phones the biggest spender, according to Key to Success Co.

The radio planning and buying firm said DTAC spent 25.3 million baht, followed by Toyota at 22.4 million, and Digital GSM 2 Watts at 21.7 million baht.

By category, mobile-phone operators were the biggest spenders with 111.2 million baht, followed by 104.3 million baht for government agencies, and cars at 94.5 million.

Of the more than 40 state agencies that spent on radio commercials, the Tourism Authority of Thailand was the biggest spender with 13.3 million baht. It was followed by the Export Promotion Department with 9.8 million baht.

The survey was based on information from 32 of 40 radio stations in Bangkok. Spending was based on standard rate-card ...
