Aug. 1--RATCHABURI CUTS PROFIT FORECAST: Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Plc has cut its net profit forecast for 2001 to 3.27 billion baht or 2.26 baht per share from 3.5 billion baht (2.41 baht per share).
Managing director Boonchoo Direksathapon cited a delay in the transfer of the combined-cycle power plant's units one and two from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) to Oct 31 from Aug 31.
Further performance tests of the units' diesel-oil firing systems were needed, he said.
Ratchaburi Holding had forecast revenues for the year of 21.54 billion baht, against expenses of 18.44 billion baht.
However, he said, Egat would pay the company compensation for the delay, amounting to 176.86 million baht, or 88.43 million baht per month.
