Aug. 2--After two years in the market, Namthip bottled water, produced by Thai Pure Drink Co as part of the Coca-Cola network, claims to have annual sales growth of 35 percent.

The producers are pumping 150 million baht into a new campaign, "Every drop with care", in an attempt to lead the market for bottled water in three to five years. Singha is now the market leader, with Namthip entering the top five.

Competition in the segment is intense with 2,000 businesses, large and small, competing for a share of a market that was valued at 4.2 billion baht last year.

According to Thai Farmers Research Centre, the market is expected to grow by about 5 percent this year, and to continue expanding in tandem with consumers' health awareness and demand for pure products.
