Information Technology Firm Begins Move into Downtown Austin, Texas, Buildings.

Aug. 14--The first of 300 Computer Sciences Corp. employees began moving into a new downtown office building Monday -- the first wave of a corporate relocation expected to bring about 1,000 workers downtown by January.

"I think it's a red-letter day," said Charlie Betts, executive director of the Downtown Austin Alliance, which represents downtown property owners. "From a private-sector move, this may be the most significant one to happen in several decades."

The employees from CSC's Austin-based Financial Services Group will move into the $40 million building at 400 W. Cesar Chavez St. during the next three weeks. More CSC employees will begin …
