Q: For as long as I can remember "Friends" has been on at the same time and the same day. Is Friends" the only prime-time TV show that hasn't changed its schedule? _ T.B., Plano, Texas
A: Actually, "Friends was moved around a couple of times during its first season. The show premiered in September 1994 following Mad About You on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET. In January 1995, "Friends" swapped places with "Seinfeld," moving to 9:30 p.m. ET. After ending its freshman year as the most popular comedy on television, "Friends" began its second season at 8 p.m. ET, anchoring NBC's "must-see" Thursday night lineup. One show that has been in the same time slot throughout its run is ER. Except for its two-hour pilot episode, the top-rated NBC drama has owned the 9 p.m. ET slot on Thursday nights since its debut in 1994.
