NBA adjusts rookies orientations, meetings.

The National Basketball Association has decided to call off its upcoming rookie orientation program and league meetings as a result of the terrorist attacks this week in New York and Washington, D.C.

There was no word when or if the events would be rescheduled.

"In light of the tragic events in our country, the league meetings in Orlando and the NBA rookie transition program in Lansdowne, Va., both set for next week, will not be held," said Brian McIntyre, the senior vice president of the league's communication group.

After the NBA office in New York was closed down for two days, the league was back in business Thursday. …
