Aug. 27--Once upon a time, the anticipation of crisp autumn days struck fear into the hearts of parents, who were forced to pay the high cost of children's back-to-school wardrobes.

Together with the fact that children grow out of clothing so quickly, value and quality are foremost in most parents' minds when they approach the mall with cash and credit cards in hand.

With the recent opening of Once Upon a Child in Berkshire Square Shopping Center, Wyomissing, proprietors Judy and Jim Wilt hope to provide a solution for families facing this dilemma.

A division of Grow Biz International Inc., Minneapolis, Once Upon a Child is one of a chain of 234 independently owned franchises offering "gently used" and new children's clothing, toys, maternity clothing and baby furniture.
