Aug. 23--Some Dallas council members choked Wednesday on naming the Latino Cultural Center's performance hall for a tequila, so the council delayed its decision on whether to accept $1 million from Jose Cuervo's parent company.

The council deferred the issue for three weeks, during which city leaders will discuss with Guinness United Distillers & Vintners North America Inc. ways to make the proposal more palatable.

Council members said they plan to discuss possible alcohol education programs with the company and to revisit the question of whether the company would consider donating the money if the hall doesn't bear…
