Tesco Lotus to Cut Opening Hours at Two Thai Superstores.
Sep. 2--Tesco Lotus said yesterday that it would comply with government requests to curtail the business hours of its 24-hour superstores.
Its two outlets that are now open around the clock, on Rama IV Road and Sukhumvit 50, will be open from 6 am until midnight.
"This will be put into effect as soon as possible," Tesco Lotus chairman Sunthorn Arunanondchai said yesterday. "However, we will need some time to inform our customers of the change in shopping hours so they may adjust their schedules accordingly and without inconvenience."The company's announcement followed a meeting on Tuesday with Deputy Commerce Minister Suvarn Valaisathien.
