Sep. 8--Celebrity hair stylist Somsak Chalachol plans to take his beauty salon chain to Singapore and China in his first venture abroad over the next year.
The salons will be the first Thai export of their kind, according to Mr Somsak, the managing director of Chalachol Co, which owns and operates Chalachol Hair Studio and Salon de Bkk in Thailand.
The company plans to use its upmarket Salon de Bkk brand for the overseas launch, with services ranging from hairdressing and consultancy services to spa treatment and Thai massage.
Mr Somsak said he was talking with a Taiwanese investor about the possibility of opening a salon in Singapore.
He also planned to open a branch in Shanghai at the Super Brand Mall owned by the Charoen Pokphand Group.
However, the cost and partners had not been concluded, he said.
