Xtreme makeover
At some as-yet-undefined point in the future, Chevrolet promises a high-performance SS version of its Colorado midsize pickup, but until then we'll have to be content with the 2005 Colorado Xtreme. The appearance and suspension package features a 1.6-inch lower stance and sport suspension with gas-charged monotube shocks, front and rear antiroll bars, special 18-inch wheels and low-profile tires, body-colored front fascia, rear fascia and rocker extension moldings, and a spoiler on the tailgate. A metallic grille and special badging complete the package. Xtreme engine offerings are not extreme, but include the 175-hp, 2.8-liter inline four-cylinder, or the 220-hp, 3.5-liter inline five.
