Kicking SSR when its sales are down
I thought the Chevy HHR photo (News, Aug. 2) was the '06 PT Cruiser. Besides the rear view, it looks like the PT. But it may be the right idea, unlike its SSR predecessor that is priced way too high. Then there is the Magnum for less money, and it has a Hemi. Chrysler has the better idea with more affordable vehicles. Bring back the day of the GTX and the Super Bee.

The neighborhood Chevy dealer wants $10,000 over sticker, putting SSR in Corvette territory. A lot of good cars have failed due to predatory pricing. We saw the Thunderbird go from $10,000 over sticker to $10,000 in discounts in a couple of years. Chevy should remember the Corvette ZR-1 suffered a similar fate.
