Oct. 3--A programme allocating 6.2 billion baht from the government's economic stimulus package to local industries is likely to kick off this month.

The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and related industrial institutions yesterday proposed a revised package to Industry Ministry officials.

They identified 82 projects budgeted at 6.2 billion baht budget to complement other government programmes to revive the economy, improve competitiveness and create jobs.

Of the total, 11 projects representing 346 million baht were initiated by the Industry Ministry. The FTI proposed 25 projects worth 3.36 billion while independent institutions proposed 46 projects worth 2.5 billion baht.
