Ashanti Douglas first made a name for herself by teaming up with successful rappers such as Ja Rule and Fat Joe. But these days, the sultry singer/songwriter has no problem surviving on her own merits. Her 2002 self-titled debut album won a slew of awards including a Grammy. Last year, she came out with her second album, Chapter II, which shot straight to number one and earned her two 2004 Grammy nominations. No wonder she's being called the reigning princess of R & B.
