Nov. 3--Celebrity entertainer Charaspong "Tu" Suraswadi dreams of building the highest tower in the world in memory of Thailand's Seven Great Kings.
He wants the Ched Maha Raja-nusorn to replace the Petronas tower in Malaysia as the world's tallest building, with the new tower including the largest stadium in the world, a regional convention centre, a museum and a library.
"But so far, I have only empty hands," he said. Besides the concept, he has nothing on which to build his dream.
When completed, the tower would be managed by a committee, and he wants it to be chaired by former prime ministers including Gen Prem Tinsulanonda and Anand Panyarachun.
Mr Charaspong said he did not want to be involved in managing the tower.
"I intend to limit my roles to selling the idea and responsibility for the design of the tower. After that I plan to stay in England with my son," he said.
