Nov. 2--Any casual spectator stopping by yesterday's fashion show at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre would have been amazed at the chaos.

Models walked to their own tune, paying little heed to the running lines or frantic gestures of the organisers. Some refused to even spare a glance at the photographers, while others squatted on their hind quarters and refused to budge.

One model even ground her legs into the carpet and let loose with a canine yelp.

But for this particular fashion show, such antics are par for the course.

Thousands turned out for the opening of Pet Expo Thailand 2001, a four-day gala displaying the latest fashions, styles and clothing trends for pets of all species, sizes and colours.

High fashion for dogs is no joke. Pet lovers spend thousands of baht each year outfitting their pets with the latest designs and colours.
