Nov. 1--Cellular phone operator Advanced Info Service has revamped its marketing as part of internal restructuring.

Songsak Premsuk, managing director of advertising agency SC Matchbox, was named executive vice-president for marketing on Oct 1.

A new marketing team was then appointed to oversee operations at the country's largest cellular provider.

Company sources said that internal conflicts over the revamp led Yanyong Akrajindanont, vice-president for marketing, to tender his resignation, effective Nov 15.

Mr Yanyong, 37, had worked with AIS since its founding in 1990.

He declined to comment on his reasons for leaving.

However, the new marketing plan had sharply reduced his duties.
