Wholesale Club in Clarence, N.Y., Offers Gasoline at Lower Prices to Members.

Nov. 1--Although BJ's Wholesale Club in Clarence won't open until the end of this year, shoppers can already get a frugal fill-up on gasoline.

On Wednesday, the members-only store at 5183 Transit Road in the Eastgate Plaza was selling regular unleaded gasoline for $1.23 per gallon, 10 cents less than the average price in the Buffalo Niagara area, according to the American Automobile Association.

"Business is going well," said David Teribury, general manager of the Clarence store. "We certainly expect it to pick up as the club gets closer to completion."
