Nov. 13--OAKHURST, Calif.--Madera County supervisors today will consider banning new building in the booming Hillview Water Co. service area until the utility can resolve summer shortfalls without tapping uranium-tainted wells.
Russ Holcomb, executive director of the Eastern Madera County Chamber of Commerce, says he will be at today's Board of Supervisors meeting to oppose county engineer Michael Kirn's recommendation of a building-permits moratorium. It would cover central Oakhurst where Hillview delivers water to some 1,352 commercial and residential customers.
