Nov. 12--NEW IN WEST ORANGE: Powell Design Group did the design on the 21,000-square-foot Windermere Village Center in west Orange County. Amprop Corners Inc., Tampa, is the developer. Scherer Construction is the general contractor on the project.
SOUR ECONOMY LEAVES MORE OFFICE SPACE VACANT: As the economy and Orlando's office market has slowed, the amount of sublease space available has grown immensely. The Orlando office of Cushman & Wakefield estimates sublease space totaled about 3 percent of the market at the close of the third quarter.
That's more than 800,000 square feet. So far this year, net leasing activity -- the amount of space taken out of available inventory -- totaled just 951,274 square feet. In the first three quarters of last year, net leasing totaled 1.25 million square feet.
Some huge blocks of sublease space have come onto the market. For instance, in Maitland stock brokerage Charles Schwab's cutbacks brought more than 83,000…
