Nov. 21--The world's first contraceptive patch, tested by doctors at Eastern Virginia Medical School and approved Tuesday by the FDA, is sure to create a stir when it hits the market next year.
It's designed to be worn on the behind.
The matchbox-size patch releases hormones -- similar to those in the Pill -- which are absorbed through the skin. Women stick on a new patch every week for three weeks. On the fourth week, they get their periods. The next week, they start a new cycle.
