MILWAUKEE _ In order to trade outfielder Jeromy Burnitz to the New York Mets, the Milwaukee Brewers may need to include right-hander Jeff D'Amico or another player to sweeten the deal.
The Mets and Brewers have been talking about a trade that would bring outfielder Matt Lawton and left-handed pitcher Glendon Rusch to Milwaukee in exchange for Burnitz.
The deal, which has been the subject of speculation for two weeks, is on hold for a handful of reasons.
