Packers' overall rushing stats don't measure up.

Green Bay, Wis. _ The Green Bay Packers have in Ahman Green the National Football League's third-leading rusher, a threat to bust a game wide open every time he touches the ball.

They have an offensive line that combines the necessary athleticism and power to open holes for most running backs.

They have in Brett Favre a quarterback who forces opposing defenses to at least consider whether devoting more than the normal number of defenders to stop the run will result in disaster.

So, do the Packers have one of the best running games in the league?

Not if statistics are your measure.

Heading into their Monday night game at Jacksonville, the Packers rank a surprising 18th in the league in rushing yards per game. They rank tied for 29th in the league in rushing first downs and 13th in yards per carry.
