Ravens in stupor after super season.

There isn't a no-repeat rule in the NFL, but for the third straight season, the defending Super Bowl champions are negotiating a rocky road toward the postseason.

In 1999, the Denver Broncos missed the playoffs entirely. Last season, the St. Louis Rams needed to win their final regular-season game just to qualify as a wild card, only to lose the following week. This season, the Baltimore Ravens, at 6-4, are having their share of troubles.

Things went wrong for the Ravens almost from the start. Running back Jamal Lewis tore up his knee during training camp and was finished for the season. They lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the second week of the season and then lost to the Cleveland Browns twice. And last week, team sacks leader Michael McCrary was also lost for the year after undergoing knee surgery.

And then there is the matter of quarterback Elvis Grbac.
