Saratoga, Warren Counties in New York Hail Economic Development Zones.

Dec. 19--Gov. George Pataki gave a major boost Tuesday to the nascent Saratoga Technology and Energy Park by including part of it in the state's 60th Empire Zone.
Flanked by the region's elected officials and economic development leaders, Pataki said the special tax zones, which could reduce an eligible company's tax liability to zero for as long as a decade, are the most potent economic development tool in any state's arsenal.
He said the two new zones, one for Saratoga County and one for neighboring Warren County, are even more critical after the Sept. 11 attacks.
