Dec. 7--Savvis Communications Corp., an Internet-service provider with headquarters in Creve Coeur, is being sued by a landlord claiming $880,000 in rent for an office in Boston.

The legal action comes at a time when Savvis is gasping for a cash infusion to keep operating. It also underscores losses the company sustained by launching and then abandoning a plan to build centers for computers serving as Web-site hosts.

Savvis has enough cash to operate through the end of this month, and it is searching for new financing, according to its quarterly financial report filed Nov. 14.
