Jan. 8--Thailand's home electrical appliance market is braced for even more intense competition this year as a result of the Asean Free Trade Area's (Afta) tax reduction scheme.
A large number of products had entered the country from other Asean states since import taxes were cut, and more goods were coming from China as well, according to industry executives.
Thailand in August cut duties on home appliances imported from Asean member countries to 5 percent from 10-15 percent.
