Jan. 7--About 1,000 small communities nationwide can expect to earn a total of 10 billion baht this year under the One Tambon, One Project programme.
Of the 7,000 tambons, or sub-districts, 6,340 proposed local products for assistance under the scheme. From these, 1,000 products were selected for the quality, said the project committee's chairwoman, Yaowapa Wongswasdi.
Mrs Yaowapa, a younger sister of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and chairwoman of the Senate commitee on industry, said the products would be made and promoted commercially in the domestic and export markets.
