Jan. 7--Thousands of computer enthusiasts will file into the Moscone Center in San Francisco today, hoping for a hint of hocus-pocus, a flash of magic. And officials at Apple Computer Inc. are hinting that they won't be disappointed.
It's day one of Macworld, the biggest trade show for users of Apple's beloved Macintosh computer line. Apple chief executive Steve Jobs, the computer industry's most charismatic pitchman, has often used Macworlds to unveil some dramatic new product, like the once-revolutionary iMac one-piece desktop computer, or the low-cost iBook laptop computer with built-in wireless networking.
