Jan. 4--DTAC plans to spend 1.3 billion baht on advertising this year to strengthen its corporate image as a provider of quality mobile phone service.
The huge budget is aimed at attracting new users prior to the commercial launch of CP Orange, scheduled for Jan 15.
Although the budget for this year is slightly lower than last year, second-ranked DTAC executives said they aimed to capture a 30 percent share of the local cellular market.
Market leader Advanced Info Service forecast earlier that another 12 million people would sign up for mobile phones this year, bringing the national total to 19 million. ...
