Jan. 4--Banpu Plc plans to sell three more non-core mining businesses this year as part of its move to focus on coal mining and coal-fired power plants.
Banpu's total interest in the three businesses earmarked for disposal is about 420 million baht. The firms are Mineral Resources Development Co, MDR-ECC Co and Yenbai Banpu Calcium Carbonate Co.
Chanin Vongkusolkit, the company's president, said Banpu held a 99.99 percent stake in Mineral Resources Development. With registered capital of 300 million baht, the firm produces kaolin. Its mines are located in Ranong and Lampang. Details of potential buyers have yet to be ...
