Jan. 2--On Jan. 9-10, the Alerus Center in Grand Forks will host a forum on rural economic growth: the Marketplace of Ideas.

In this series, Herald Staff Writer Dorreen Yellow Bird talks with experts and entrepreneurs about rural growth. The series will run through Jan. 10.

Today, Jim Maetzold, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's expert on nature-based tourism, talks about using resources such as crops, livestock, wildlife viewing, hunting and fishing to develop a business.
