Jan. 25--Another of Richmond's venerable corporate names is fading into history.
American Home Products Corp., the pharmaceuticals giant with manufacturing and research operations in the Richmond area, said yesterday it will change its name to Wyeth in March, adopting a moniker that is part of one of its oldest subsidiaries.
As part of the identity switch, the Madison, N.J.-based company said it will also change the name of its Whitehall-Robins subsidiary to Wyeth Consumer Healthcare.
Whitehall-Robins is the successor to A.H. Robins Co., a pharmaceutical firm founded in Richmond in 1889. The company was based …
