Ford Predicts Nearly 45 Percent Increase in Thai Sales in 2002.

Feb. 2--Ford expects to raise its sales by nearly 45 percent to 25,000 vehicles this year by staging quarterly "product launch blitz" campaigns, according to Mike Pease, executive director of Ford Sales & Service (Thailand).

Meeting the target would give Ford a 7.8 percent share in a market expected to reach 320,000 units by year's end. Ford sold 17,342 units last year for a share of 5.9 percent.

Six new products to be introduced in six quarters have been included in Ford's strategy up to mid-2003, according to Chatchai Bunnag, president of Ford Operations.
