Feb. 15--For sale: nine-story office tower with rose-colored glass walls, parking garage and panoramic views of downtown Orlando. Previous owner seeking less pretentious offices.

Orange County school officials' announcement this week that they want to sell their much-maligned headquarters comes when the downtown real estate market is the slowest it has been in years.

"Downtown right now? The market's soft," said Jeff Patterson, president of U.S. Realty and Investments, which specializes in urban Orlando office space.

Getting a company or investor interested in a building west of Interstate 4 may not be easy, he added.
